Yara has lots to tell when the topic is “conservation”.
As a researcher, she is helping to increase baseline knowledge on the field of biodiversity and biogeography, which is the first step toward creation of robust marine protected areas.
As a conservationists, Yara has dedicated her life to the sea. She has spent lots of hours in in the water and seeing how quickly our oceans are been destroyed.
She has conducted a huge amount of environmental education activities, numerous beach clean ups, removed ghost fishing nets from the sea, rescued manta rays, sea turtles, potato bass and even sea slugs! Nevertheless, the most strong memory is when she risky her life to save a whale shark. Read more here.
